The Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind (FNSB) has praised First City Monument Bank (FCMB) for its unwavering support of the visually impaired community in Nigeria. Through financial contributions and the provision of essential resources, FCMB has bolstered programs at FNSB, Pacelli School for the Blind, Bethesda Home for the Blind, and Farmcraft Centre for the Blind, significantly impacting the lives of those they serve.
Arit Tunde-Imoyo, Chairman of the FNSB Executive Council, expressed deep appreciation for FCMB’s ongoing partnership. “FCMB has been more than just a supporter; it has been a genuine partner. Its generosity has been instrumental in helping us fulfill our mission of empowering visually impaired individuals to lead independent lives,” she stated.
Diran Olojo, Divisional Head of Corporate Affairs at FCMB, reiterated the bank’s dedication to promoting inclusivity. “Everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive,” he said.
“Our enhanced support this year demonstrates our commitment to empowering the visually impaired community,” he remarked.
Olojo also highlighted the importance of challenging societal stereotypes surrounding disabilities.
“The visually impaired are just as capable of achieving success as anyone else. The true obstacles they face are not their limitations, but rather the misconceptions and lack of support they encounter. At FCMB, we are dedicated to dismantling these barriers by providing resources that allow them to pursue their goals and lead fulfilling lives.”
Oluwamayowa Oke, Executive Secretary of the FNSB Vocational Training Centre, recognized FCMB’s ongoing support for the center and its students. “FCMB’s generosity ensures the well-being of our students and enhances the quality of teaching and learning,” he stated.
Hameed Kareem, an assistant teacher at Bethesda Home for the Blind, also praised FCMB for its commitment and offered prayers for the bank’s continued success.
