NIPR should educate Nigerians on the benefits of the Tax Reform Bill -Information Minister

Muhammed of Information Mohammad  Malagi has  urged the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to educate Nigerians on the benefits accruing from the tax reform bill.

He made the call on Saturday during the Kaduna state section of the NIPR Annual Conference / Annual General Meeting and Awards 2024 with the theme “The Role of Public Relations in Promoting Constructive Dialogue for National Economic Renaissance”.

The minister described the event as timely because of the much-talked about tax reform project, explaining that the purpose of the socio-economic development of the country.

Alhaji Muhamed Idris said journalists and members of NIPR have a crucial role to play in enlightening the public concepts and benefits to be gained from tax reform policy.

According to him, “The Federal Government intends to implement the policy for the benefit of the generality of Nigerians.”

President and National Chairman of the Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku, in his speech, he explained that the institute plays an important role in protecting the interests of society through a professional approach.

He added that NIPR also plays a vital role in educating Nigerians about government policies and programmes.

Dr Ike Neliaku also assured that the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) is always ready to collaborate with citizens for a constructive engagement towards the development of the nation.

The Chairman of the Kaduna State Chapter of NIPR, Mallam Haroun Malami, in his speech explained that tax reform is critical for the growth and development of the nation, saying that it is not only about politics but also about improving the lot of the people. .

He also explained that tax reform aims to create a narrative that resonates with all citizens, businesses and parties.

Malam Haroun Malami noted that effective governance is the backbone of any prosperous nation, explaining that in Nigeria, the relationship between government and citizens is key to building trust, credibility and ultimately, a prosperous society.
