Access Holdings Plc has officially appointed Uche Orji as an Independent Non-Executive Director of its subsidiary, Access Bank Plc.
In a statement released by the bank on Saturday evening, it was announced that the appointment became effective on January 7, following approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The statement emphasized that this appointment underscores the bank’s dedication to improving governance practices and fostering a diverse and experienced board.
Mr. Orji is a distinguished professional in investment banking, an entrepreneur in information technology, and a finance expert, boasting three decades of professional and board experience.
He is the Co-founder and Partner at Titangate Capital Management, an equity firm that invests in deep-tech, enterprise software, semiconductors, hardware, and artificial intelligence sectors.
Additionally, he is the Founder and Director of Vitesse Africa Limited, an investment advisory firm that specializes in African energy, technology, and infrastructure.
He is an Executive Board member and investor at Ultrasafe AI, a firm specializing in artificial intelligence and IT development, which collaborates strategically with top technology companies.
Additionally, he serves on the Board of the Private Infrastructure Development Group in London and chairs its Risk Committee.
Previously, Mr. Orji was the founding Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority.
He has also held roles as Managing Director and Senior Analyst at UBS Securities Limited in New York, as well as Managing Director and Head of European Technology/Semiconductor Equity Research at JP Morgan Securities in London.
Furthermore, he worked as an Executive Director and Portfolio Manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in London.
Earlier in his career, he was the Acting Financial Controller at Diamond Bank Limited and began as an Audit Trainee at Arthur Andersen & Co.
He earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
