The naira continued its decline against the dollar in the official foreign exchange market, concluding the week on a negative note.
According to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria, the naira weakened further to N1,567.02 per dollar on Friday, a drop from Thursday’s trading. This represents a daily decrease of N14.49, down from the previous closing rate of N1,552.53.
In contrast, the black market saw the naira remain stable against the dollar, holding steady at N1,560 on Friday, the same rate as Thursday.
The naira experienced its most significant depreciation against the dollar following President Donald Trump’s tariff announcement on Wednesday.
